Dhananjay Regmi, the candidate of the National Independent Party (NISP), has been elected in Constituency No. 1 of Syangja, beating his nearest rival by 10,214 votes. He secured 29,071 votes.

His nearest rival, Bharatraj Dhakal of the Nepali Congress, became the runner-up by securing 18,857 votes. Similarly, CPN-UML candidate Min Prasad Gurung came third by securing 16,804 votes. Nepali Communist Party candidate Shailendra Ghimire came fourth with 1,552 votes.

Regmi was previously active in the tourism sector. Regmi, who has been an active politician of the NISP for the past 6 months, was busy campaigning in the villages of Syangja, listening to the problems.

There were 130,886 voters in Syangja-1. Of these, 70,944 votes were cast. Of the votes cast, 2,908 were invalid.

There were 12 candidates in the race, including 11 parties and one independent.
