One person died in an auto accident in Kumaltar, Sundarbazar Municipality-7, Lamjung on Saturday night.
Police have said that 29-year-old Chunu Gurung, a resident of Sainik Tole, Sundarbazar Municipality-6, died in the accident.
The auto (Gandaki Province 03-001 Ha 0040) heading from Paundi to Sundarbazar met with an accident at around 7:55 pm, causing Gurung to suffer serious head injuries. The injured Gurung was taken to the Model Community Hospital, Sundarbazar for treatment, but was declared dead by doctors at 8:50 pm during treatment, according to police. After the accident, the auto and driver, Sanjay Basel, 25, of Sundarbazar Municipality-7, have been taken into custody by the Area Police Office, Sundarbazar.
Police have said that further investigation into the incident is underway.
