Six people were injured when a jeep carrying voters returning from voting met with an accident in Annapurna Rural Municipality-3, Kaski.
The jeep accident occurred on Thursday in Annapurna Rural Municipality-3, Luera, under Kaski's constituency number 3. The jeep accident occurred while returning home after voting at the Sitla Secondary School polling station in Jhobang Voting Center, informed Rural Municipality Chairman Bishnu KC.
Two of the six people injured in the jeep accident are undergoing treatment at Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara. Among the injured, 45-year-old Balkumari Bik from Luera is in critical condition.
The accident occurred when the driver of a jeep carrying more passengers than its capacity tried to stop on a downhill road and arrange seats, Chairman KC said. 'While trying to stop on a downhill road and arrange passengers, the jeep slid down and overturned,' he said. 'All except two people have returned home after receiving basic treatment.' Locals and security personnel rescued the injured and took them to the hospital.
