In the House of Representatives elections held on Thursday, 45 percent of the votes were cast in Syangja. The voting, which began at 7 am and continued till 5 pm, was peaceful, but the enthusiasm of the voters was not as expected.
Despite tight security arrangements at polling stations across the district, voter turnout was moderate in most places. Although there was less activity at polling stations in the morning, voter turnout increased in some places after noon.
