A woman has died after being hit by a jeep in Manakamana Tole, Besisahar Municipality-2, Lamjung.
Police have said that 50-year-old Mangali Subedi, who was seriously injured when she was hit by a jeep bearing number Ga3Cha 913, has died during treatment.
A jeep heading towards Gari from Bhakunde hit Subedi, who was walking on the inner road, at around 4:30 pm on Saturday. She was taken to the Provincial Hospital in Besisahar for treatment.
She suffered serious head injuries and was taken to the New Medical College in Chitwan after she could not be treated in Besisahar. Police have said that the doctors involved in the treatment declared Subedi dead at around 10 pm on Saturday.
Police have taken the jeep driver, Lila Gurung, 32, of Dudhpokhari Rural Municipality-6, into custody. Police have said that an investigation into the accident is underway.
