Police from Chhyakhu and Meta outposts have reached Narpabhumi Rural Municipality-1 after breaking the frozen dam over Dharamshala and building a road a week ago. According to DSP Hari Prasad Poudel, Chief of the District Police Office, Manang, additional police officers have been deployed under the leadership of Police Inspector Mohan Jairu for the election security of Narpabhumi Rural Municipality.
Chief District Officer Poudel said that two teams going to the polling station in Phu village will go to Meta on Sunday and will reach Phu village only on Monday. He said that the police along with the staff will leave from Chame, the district headquarters, on Monday for the three polling stations in Nar. ‘The team going to Nar and the team going to Phu would have been sent on the same day. There would have been a problem staying on the road if they were going at the same time. That is why the team going to Phu today and the team going to Nar tomorrow will go.’ According to him, the Nepal Army and the Armed Police Force have already been deployed.
According to District Election Officer Jeevan Kunwar, the handover of election materials to the staff has started after receiving the appointment letter from the Chief Election Officer’s office.
