The 10-day training provided to election police who will be deployed in the upcoming House of Representatives elections has been completed.
In Gorkha, 2,283 election police officers were selected and trained at five locations. Training was provided to election police officers at Gorkha Harmatari Playground, Gorkha Campus, Majhuwa, Area Police Office Thantipokhari, Jawari and Arughat.
DSP Rajkumar Shrestha of the District Police Office, Gorkha, said that the training, which began on Magh 18, ended on Tuesday. The training covered issues such as election security, police duties, service facilities and other issues. He said that the election police will play an important role in conducting the election in a peaceful, fearless and fair manner.
In Gorkha, training was conducted for 79 people selected from 2,244 Armed Police Force under the Nepal Police. Preparations are underway to distribute uniforms to those who have undergone training and deploy them in election security within a few days.
