Baglung Municipality has launched a campaign to find children who missed the regular vaccination campaign and girls who need to be vaccinated against cervical cancer.
The city health department has launched a campaign to search for those who missed the vaccination campaign, especially workers and migrants living in urban areas.
On Friday, the city health department mobilized health workers from across the city to the market area. They will go to neighborhoods and homes to search for those who missed the vaccination and bring them under the scope of vaccination, said Ram Prasad Khanal, head of the city health department.
The department has deployed 35 health workers at once for this campaign. Khanal informed that this problem is especially prevalent in wards 2, 3 and 4 of the municipality, so they have been deployed in those places.
This team will search at least 600 households. It is estimated that those who did not go to school or migrated and working girls were also missed in the HPV vaccination campaign against cervical cancer that started last year. Last year, 2,100 people between the ages of 10 and 14 were given the HPV vaccine. Similarly, 900 children under 15 months of age were vaccinated with all types of vaccines. Every year, the local level should declare the municipality fully vaccinated. Public Health Officer Bishnu Prasad Sapkota said that a team has been formed to conduct a search operation to make the vaccination campaign announced with data a success and has been sent door-to-door, targeting everyone. A microphone has been installed in the market area and people have been urged to inform if anyone is missing. 'To meet the government's target, no one should be left out of the service,' Khanal said, 'all the data will be updated after completing this campaign.'
He said that in addition to the deployed team, the ward level will also continue to search regularly. By completing all the vaccinations within the month of Baisakh, the municipality will be declared a municipality with complete vaccination and sustainability.
