A girl has died and another person has been injured in a pickup van accident on the Koldanda-Tharpu inner road section in Koldanda, Myagde Rural Municipality-4 of the district.

The deceased has been identified as Koiska Gharti, 13, daughter of Buddhi Bahadur Gharti, a resident of Myagde-4 Koldanda, police said.

At around 7:30 am on Sunday, the driver of a pickup truck (Ga 3 Cha 5835) coming from Koldanda towards Tharpu lost control and fell about 20 meters off the road, police said.

Koiska, who was injured in the accident, suffered serious head injuries and was taken to the Provincial Hospital in Damauli for treatment. At around 8:40 am, doctors at the hospital declared her dead, according to Tanahun police.

Similarly, 15-year-old Dipsan Gharti of the same place sustained injuries to his chest and groin. His condition is said to be moderate and he is undergoing treatment. Three people, including the driver, were in the van at the time of the accident.
