The Gorkha Municipality Mayor's Cup Football Tournament has begun. Teams from 14 wards are participating in the tournament, which began on Saturday at the playground in Chhebetar, Gorkha-10.

The competition was inaugurated on Saturday by Gorkha Municipality Mayor Krishna Bahadur Rana and Deputy Mayor Masali Maya Thokar. On the first day of the competition, 3 matches were completed on Saturday. In the match between Wards 12 and 13, Ward 13 won by a 1-0 goal difference. Similarly, in the match between Wards 4 and 5, Ward 5 won by a 2-1 goal difference. In the match between Wards 14 and 7, Ward 14 won by a 3-1 goal difference. 

The team that comes first in the competition will receive Rs 101,111 in cash, informed the municipality's sports coordinator Pradeep Kunwar. Similarly, the second, third and consolation teams will receive Rs 51,111, 30,111 and 15,111 in cash, respectively, according to the organizers.
