1,306 election police personnel were required in Lamjung for the House of Representatives elections to be held on February 21.

In Lamjung, the election was held after the deadline was extended twice after the number of voters did not reach the required number. The deadline was recently extended by another two days after the first two-day extension was not enough.
For the election of members of the House of Representatives to be held on Falgun 21, 1,306 election policemen were required in Lamjung. Initially, applications were opened from Poush 25 to Magh 1, and 1,100 people applied.
Then, two more days were added on Magh 2 and 3, bringing the total number of applicants to 1,242. Their selection process is underway.
According to Police Inspector Gyanendra Bahadur Chhetri of the District Police Office, after the number of applicants was not reached even after the two days were added, two more days were added on Saturday and Sunday. He said that those who were added in these two days will also be taken to the selection process. He said that the final results will be published on Magh 22. Those selected will be trained and mentored from Magh 15 to 24.
Arrangements have been made to apply for election policemen at police posts across the district as well as through the Armed Police Force camp in Besisahar Municipality-3, Ranikuwa. In previous elections, more than the required number of applications were submitted as temporary police officers, but this time the number of applications has been low. Police said that while the applicant should have completed 18 years of age and not exceeded 54 years of age by the last day of application, some people returned due to the age limit. Police said that the specified age group should be Nepali citizens, have normal literacy, have not been convicted of any criminal offense, are not members of any political party at the time of recruitment, and be mentally and physically fit. Police said that those who have applied for various posts in the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, security agencies of friendly countries, former security personnel, former forest guards, and those who have passed the physical fitness and health test from 2081 Magh 1 to 2082 Poush have been given priority based on the admission letter. Police said that those who have worked as temporary police officers in previous elections and have performed satisfactorily will also be selected.
In Lamjung, which has one constituency for the House of Representatives, 186 polling stations have been designated in 130 polling stations for the upcoming Falgun 21 election. Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Election Police will be deployed for its security.
