Only three women have filed candidacies from both constituencies of Gorkha for the upcoming House of Representatives elections.

Even the main political parties have not directly fielded women. Out of 13 candidates in Gorkha-1, 2 are women, while out of 14 candidates in Gorkha-2, only 1 is a woman.

In Gorkha Constituency No. 1, Kavita Bhattarai of Gorkha Municipality-1 has filed an independent candidacy. Manukumari Shrestha of Gorkha-6 has filed an independent candidacy from the Nepal Workers and Farmers Party. In Gorkha Constituency No. 2, Kalpana Kumal of Palungtar-7 has filed an independent candidacy from the Aam Janata Party.

In the upcoming House of Representatives elections in Gorkha, 27 people have filed their candidacies. Out of 27, 3 have filed independent candidacies. Hari Pokharel, 38, of Ajirkot Rural Municipality-5 has filed his candidacy from Constituency No. 2. Similarly, Chuda Prasad Dhakal of Siranchowk-2 has also filed his independent candidacy.
