The District Administration Office, Lamjung, has warned political parties, candidates and concerned parties to fully comply with the election code of conduct.
The District Administration Office issued a notice on its official Facebook page on Thursday, urging strict implementation of the Election Code of Conduct 2082.
Chief District Officer Umesh Dhungana clarified that if the code of conduct is violated, political parties or candidates will have to face action according to the law. He said that political parties have also been informed about this in the all-party-all-party meeting. "Our aim is to conduct the elections in a clean, fair, dignified and peaceful environment. For this, political parties and those concerned must follow the code of conduct," he said.
The notice states that no procession, public meeting, corner meeting or any kind of gathering will be allowed in public places without the permission of the local administration. In addition, it is stated that the local administration and police should be informed of the date, time, route and location at least 24 hours in advance before holding such programs.
The administration has stated that more than one political party, candidate or party fraternal organization will not be allowed to hold processions, public meetings, meetings or gatherings at the same place or route at the same time. If such a situation arises, the instructions given by the local administration to change the venue or route of the program must be followed, the notice states.
Similarly, the administration has clarified that processions, public meetings, corner meetings, gatherings and campaign programs can only be held from 7 am to 7 pm. The administration has also mentioned that the cooperation of all political parties, candidates and concerned parties is necessary to maintain peace, security and a dignified election environment.
