Among those running for the House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21 from Lamjung, candidates from the CPN (UML) and Nepali Congress are from Chhimki village. It takes about 15 minutes by vehicle to reach from one village to the other.

Among them from the same rural municipality, UML candidate Prithvi Subba Gurung is from Kholasothar Rural Municipality-9, Taksar Village. Congress candidate Gam Prasad Gurung is from Ward No. 8, Ghamrang.

Both belong to the Lemmai (Lamichane) Khalak within the Gurung community. By descent, Prithvi Subba and Gam Prasad are also brothers from the same Khalak. Prithvi Subba is currently the vice-president of the party. Gam Prasad is only a member of the district working committee after being defeated for the district president in the 14th general convention. When the Congress split in 2058, he was the district vice-president of the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led Nepali Congress (Democratic).

Prithvi Subba was elected as a member of the House of Representatives in the 2079 elections by defeating the then ruling coalition candidate, Maoist Center General Secretary Dev Prasad Gurung. This is Gam Prasad's first trip to the parliamentary election.

12 people, including the Gurung duo who filed their candidacies in Lamjung on Tuesday, have filed their candidacies.
