The National Independent Party (NIP) Lamjung has recommended the names of three people to the center for the House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21, correcting its previous single recommendation.

On December 22, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Lamjung had recommended only the name of Dharmaraj KC, the party's founding district president and member of the central organization department. However, after controversy arose within and outside the party and two more people claimed their candidacy online, the district committee filled in the evaluation form of all three and sent it to the center.

According to District Coordinator Ashok Sapkota, although KC's name was initially recommended alone, the recommendation was sent by filling in the evaluation form received from the provincial committee after two more people claimed online. 'We had recommended alone at first, but later two people claimed online,' Sapkota said, 'We have filled in the evaluation form of all three and sent it to the center. We understood that this is a kind of recommendation.'

A meeting held a few days ago in the presence of Suryamani Adhikari, a secretariat member of the provincial committee responsible for looking after Lamjung, recommended the names of Padmaraj Panthi, Secretary of the Migration Department, and Nitish Silwal, who joined the Ujjaya Nepal Party, along with KC. Silwal, a central member of the Ujjaya Nepal Party, has remained in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) despite leaving Kulman Ghising.

After KC's single recommendation, Panthi expressed dissatisfaction on social media Facebook, saying that 'the statement that the name was recommended as a recommendation from the district is completely wrong.' Although Silwal has not given a public response, he has been active in election-oriented activities.

According to the RSS, KC's name has been recommended to the center with the first number being KC, Panthi in the second, and Silwal in the third.

In the 2079 House of Representatives election, the then Deputy General Secretary of the CPN (UML) Prithvi Subba Gurung was elected from Lamjung with 34,969 votes. His closest competitor, the candidate of the Congress-Maoist Center alliance, the then General Secretary of the CPN (Maoist Center), Dev Prasad Gurung, got 31,781 votes.
