The Maghe Sankranti festival was celebrated on Thursday with various programs. A rally with a tableau was organized by the Nepal Magar Sangh Municipal Working Committee at the Gorkha district headquarters.
Dressed in traditional costumes, a cultural tableau was taken out from the district headquarters' bus park, Harmatari to the sports ground. Participants in the tableau performed Chutka, Jhyaure, Panchebaja and traditional dances.
Maghe Sankranti festival was celebrated by organizing various programs in Palungtar, Arughat, Shahid Lakhan rural municipalities, where the Magar community is in the majority. The Magar community has been celebrating Maghi as a historical cultural festival.
