Three bodies were found in various places in Shuklagandaki Municipality of Tanahun on Saturday. The bodies of two men and a woman were found near the under-construction waste treatment center in Kaserighat, Shuklagandaki-5 in the morning.

The identity of one of the deceased has been revealed, while the identity of the other two is yet to be revealed, said the police. The identity of the deceased has been revealed as Narayan Bik, aged around 40, of Palpalichhap, Shuklagandaki Municipality-11, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police Shravan Kumar Bik of the District Police Office. According to him, Bik is an employee of Green Road Pvt. Ltd., which is responsible for operating the same processing center.

This morning, an employee of the processing center had informed the Area Police Office, Belchautara, after seeing the bodies of two men outside the compound. When the police team reached the spot and started investigating, the body of one of the men living in a tent outside the processing center was found.

'A woman who had been living with the man in the same tent was missing. During the search, the body of a woman was also found in the forest of Kaserighat, behind Janakalyan Secondary School, about 700 meters away from the place where the bodies of the two men were found,' said Deputy Superintendent of Police Bik.

Ward Chairman of Shuklagandaki-5, Dirgha Bahadur Thapa, said that the nature of the bodies was in a very gruesome state. According to him, the deceased Narayan BK and another man were shot in the stomach with a sharp weapon, while the woman's throat was slit.

Keeping in mind the sensitivity of the incident, a team led by District Police Office Chief and Superintendent of Police Tek Bahadur Karki and a technical team including trained dogs from the Gandaki Provincial Police Office have been deployed to the scene. The post-mortem has been sent to the Provincial Hospital in Damauli for an autopsy. The incident has left locals terrified, while the police have increased surveillance at the checkpoints to prevent the culprit from escaping.

Initial investigation suggests that this may have been a premeditated murder.
