The National Janamorcha has registered its candidacy in Gandaki for the National Assembly elections. Shankar Prasad Baral and Laxmi Baskota have registered their nominations on behalf of the Janamorcha.
In Gandaki, on the other hand, the term of the then Maoist Narayan Kaji Shrestha and the women's candidate of UML Bhagwati Neupane ends on 20 Falgun. On the other hand, Baral is the provincial president of Janamorcha.
The female candidate Baskota is the central vice-president of All Nepal Women's Association. She is also an advocate and was elected president of Baglung Municipality Ward No. 3 in 2074. Baral and Baskota said they filed their candidacies to protect the party's votes. Janamorcha has two municipal presidents and two vice-presidents in Gandaki.
The Congress and UML have formed an alliance in the National Assembly elections. In Gandaki, Jagat Timilsina of Tanahun is filing his candidacy from the Congress and Samjhana Devkota of Gorkha is filing his candidacy from the UML. Timilsina is the central president of the Professors' Association close to the Congress.
Congress Gandaki President Shukraraj Sharma said that Timilsina was made a candidate on the instructions of the central president. He said, 'There is no proposal or recommendation from anyone in Gandaki in his name. It was done directly under the chairman's instructions.'
Kapil Lama of Manang and Goma Ghimire of Kaski are preparing to file their candidacies from the Nepali Communist Party.
