Bandipur in Tanahun, known as the Queen of the Mountains, is rich in historical significance and cultural heritage.

To add more attraction and record to this, Poush 15 was prepared. Chudka/Kaura song and dance have a special importance and attraction in Tanahun, where Gurung, Magar and other ethnic groups are in the majority.

The residents of Bandipur and the tourism entrepreneurs here were prepared to set a world record by dancing this Chudka/Kaura in a large group.

Young men and women dressed in costumes reflecting their ethnic identity had appeared in Tundikhel of Bandipur to perform the Chudka/Kaura dance, which has historical and cultural importance in Tanahun. ‘Where is your son, where is your mother, son, you are our mother ......’, ‘Even at sixteen, I am still shining ......’ More than a thousand young men and women performed a group dance at the Tundikhel square at the same time.

Harish Gurung, coordinator of the large-scale Chudka dance program and president of Sampada Nepal, said that the program was completed as per the target.

Coordinator Gurung said, ‘With the participation of students studying in various campuses and schools of Tanahun and local youth and teenagers, a collective dance has been performed to the Chudka song that reflects the identity of Tanahun.’

Gurung said that the program was organized with the aim of promoting the art and culture of Tanahun as well as tourism to Bandipur. He said, ‘Tanahun is rich in art and culture. We believe that this program, in which a thousand people performed dances at once, will promote tourism here and help in the preservation and transmission of art and culture.'

Similarly, the conclusion of the Bandipur Visit Year has been celebrated for three days with various programs. On the first day, a chudka was not played, and on the second day, a special program was held to conclude the Bandipur Visit Year on Poush 16. 

Bandipur Visit Year 2025 Secretariat Coordinator Vaish Bahadur Gurung said that the Bandipur Visit Year has served as a milestone for the promotion of tourism in this region. Stating that various programs were conducted in 2025, he informed that preparations are now being made to announce special programs for 2026 as well. According to him, preparations are being made to celebrate 2026 as an adventurous tourism year.

Similarly, a street food festival has been organized on Poush 17 to mark the English New Year. Various cultural programs will also be held along with the street food festival.

Tourism entrepreneurs are also excited with the increase in tourist activity in Bandipur. Tourism entrepreneur Kisan Pradhan said that there is a significant influx of tourists in Bandipur at the moment.

Since Bandipur is a tourist rural municipality, tourism has been given high priority, said Surendra Thapa, the rural municipality chairman. Chairman Thapa said that the rural municipality is moving forward towards promoting Siddhagufa in Bandipur and completing the Mini Great Wall and Mukundeshwari trekking route.

He said, "We have moved forward towards completing the infrastructure under construction here. We believe this will further attract domestic and foreign tourists visiting Bandipur." According to Chairman Thapa, the rural municipality has listed Khadgadevi Temple, Thanimai Temple, Mahalaxmi Temple, Siddhagufa, Manimukundasen Trek (Mini Great Wall), Tindhara, Waterfall and Water Fountain, Tundikhel, Manimukunda Sen Durbar, and Padam Library as major destinations.

Houses built in the Bhaktapur style, Tundikhel, Thanimai, Tindhara, Raniban, Ramkot, Sunkhari, Khaddevi Temple, Vindhyavasini Temple, Mahalaxmi Temple, Information Center, and other places have become the center of attraction for tourists visiting Bandipur.
