District Police Inspector Rajan Lamsal of Gorkha said that the injured Rai died on Tuesday during treatment at the Old Medical College Bharatpur in Chitwan.
A laborer who had come to work on the road has died after being hit by a truck at Barpak Sulikot-2 on the Barpak-Laprak road section.
On Monday, 40-year-old Deepak Kumar Rai, who was a resident of Lalbazar, Belka Municipality-4, Udayapur, was injured when a truck (Na 5 Kha 9271) heading from Barpak to Laprak hit him.
The injured Rai died during treatment at the Old Medical College Bharatpur in Chitwan on Tuesday, said District Police Gorkha Inspector Rajan Lamsal.
He said that the truck driver, Indra Bahadur BK of Shahid Lakhan-7, is being taken into custody and further investigation into the incident is underway.
