The work on the trauma center (hospital) being constructed in Devchuli Municipality at a cost of Rs 103.1 million has been stalled.
The construction of the trauma center, which began nine months ago, has been stalled because the construction company BBS JV Bharatpur, which was contracted to build the trauma center, stopped work while carrying out the DPC of the building.
The two-story building has been left without a slope after tying the rods woven for the DPC beam. Local Amrit Tamang said that the rods have rusted because the work was stopped without completing the DPC.
According to Krishna Marahajan, head of the Urban Development and Building Construction Project Office, Bharatpur, which is overseeing the construction of this building, the work was stopped because the contractor did not place the rods correctly. ‘I am new to the office. The engineer who looks after the side has also come there, so now the work will start,’ Marahajan said.
The work of the two-and-a-half-story trauma center began nine months ago near the Jharahi River in Devchuli-17. The contract agreement states that the building should be handed over after completion of construction in 2006. The goal is to provide trauma center services in the building, whose construction has begun along with the compound.
