A private airline company has suspended Pokhara-Jomsom air service for three months as the number of people visiting Mustang during the winter season declines.

The companies that have been operating regular flights, Summit Airlines and Tara Airlines, have suspended air services due to adverse weather, possibility of snowfall and tourist off-season, informed Deepak Pokharel, head of the Civil Aviation Office, Jomsom. He said that even though regular air services are suspended, charter and emergency heli services will not be stopped.

Tara Airlines Mustang Station In-charge Suchan Lalchan said that the company has suspended Pokhara-Jomsom flights from December 4 to March 1. Summit Airlines has also stated that it has suspended regular flights for two months.

Pokhara-Jomsom flights are also affected due to the windstorms in Mustang during the winter. Recently, the number of air passengers has started decreasing as the Beni-Jomsom-Korla road has become easier.
