An elderly woman who was injured in a fire in Balithum, Sundarbazar Municipality-8, Lamjung, has died during treatment. 78-year-old Putali Darji was injured when her clothes suddenly caught fire from firewood while cooking.
According to the police, the body of the deceased, who was caught in the fire on November 24, was burnt from his knees to his waist and both his hands. After being sent home after initial treatment, he was taken to the Provincial Hospital in Lamjung, the district headquarters, on Saturday evening after his condition became serious.
Doctors declared him dead on Sunday morning during treatment at the hospital. Police Inspector Abhishek Pandey, Information Officer of the District Police Office, Lamjung, informed that further investigation into the incident is underway.
