The 68 prisoners who escaped from Tanahun Prison during the protest on Bhadra 24 have not yet returned. Police have stated that out of the 327 inmates in the prison, 259 have returned while the others are yet to arrive.

The search for those who have not been contacted even after three months of the protest has been intensified. Although some prisoners have returned to prison on their own, some have been searched and arrested, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police Shravan Kumar BK.

Similarly, 22-year-old Suman Pariyar, a resident of Palungtar Municipality-7, Gorkha District, who had escaped from prison during the Genji protest, was arrested on Thursday. A police team deployed from Tanahun arrested Pariyar, a prisoner in a theft case, and sent him to prison for necessary action, BK said.
