President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Dhakal, has demanded immediate action against those involved in vandalism, arson and looting of private properties of industries, factories and industrialists and businessmen in the name of various movements including the Genji Movement.
Speaking at the 11th general assembly and sixth convention of the Nawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, East Nawalparasi, Dhakal said this.
‘Be it the armed conflict of the Maoists, the people’s movement of 2046/63 or the Genji movement on Bhadra 23/24, the private sector is being targeted and destroyed in all of them,’ he said, ‘All those who infiltrated the Genji movement and attacked and looted industries, factories and the private sector should be taken action. We condemn the act of discouraging the private sector.’
Stating that only the development of the private sector will strengthen the economy and that when it increases employment and economic activities, the overall development of the country will gain momentum, he said that everyone should support the morale of the private sector.
During the Genji movement, the Maulakalika Cable Car, which was invested by Chairman Dhakal, was also vandalized and set on fire.
