Grandson arrested for murdering grandmother

Police arrested the deceased's grandson, 22-year-old Ashish Pariyar, from Buddha Chowk, Pokhara-10, on Friday on charges of involvement in the incident, said Hari Bahadur Basnet, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office.

Police have arrested a grandson in Pokhara on charges of murdering his own grandmother. Dalkumari Pariyar, 75, of Bansapani, Pokhara Metropolitan City-31, was murdered with a sharp weapon on December 19.

Police arrested the deceased's grandson, 22-year-old Ashish Pariyar, from Pokhara-10 Buddha Chowk on Friday on charges of involvement in the incident, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Hari Bahadur Basnet of the District Police Office. 

Police have also recovered the stolen jewelry worn on the ear after the murder of the elderly woman. Two yellow-colored earrings that look like gold, four small red beads weighing 72 carats, and the axe and knife used in the incident were recovered from the arrested Ashish.

The Kaski District Court has extended the remand of murder accused Ashish for seven days in a case related to manslaughter, Pranau Basnet said, adding that further investigation is underway.
