Tourism and Forest Products Checkpost established in Chhekampar

A tourism and forest products check post has been established at Chumanubri-7, Chekampar. Santosh Sherchan, head of the Manaslu Conservation Area (MCAP), said that the check post was established and put into operation on November 29.

He said that the check post has been established to provide information to tourists coming to the Manaslu region, control smuggling and other activities.

Earlier, check posts were operating in Samagaun and Jagat under the Manaslu Conservation Area. ‘Now there will be three check posts in this area,’ he said. He said that the service of the tourist check center has been started keeping in mind the convenience of tourists as the number of tourists coming to the Manaslu region is increasing significantly. He said that the check center will provide information to tourists about trekking routes, provide information about the tourist area, check tourism permits, etc. He said that the center will also provide facilitation services for monitoring during herb collection and collecting necessary documents for monitoring and relief if domestic animals are damaged by wild animals.
