The sixth edition of the National Cross-Country is scheduled to be held at Barahchaur, Kolma, Putalibazaar Municipality-9, Syangja.

The organizing organization, Satsayya Kolma Bahakot Sampark Manch, has said that preparations have been intensified for the sixth edition of the cross-country race to be held in the second week of the month. 

The national-level competition has been organized with the main slogan of 'Running for Health, Running for the Nation'. General Secretary of the forum, Jeevan Pokharel, said that the games will be organized in 5 different categories in cross-country.

According to Pokharel, various stages of the games have been organized, including 25 kilometers for men over 21 years of age, 10 km for open women, 10 km for men under 21 years of age, 5 km for student groups (boys and girls), and Run for Fun (women over 30 years of age, wearing lungis). 

The 25-kilometer race will start from Kolma Barahchaur and will pass through Satidanda-Kaule-Bahakot-Namche-Upper Kalkhu, Tallo Kalkhu, Tanahunko Khallubot-Raipur Bisauna, Ramchautara-Shimleswanra, Vadare, Gudi-Madkina, Madkina-Bhanjyang, Kebarepani and will reach Satidanda again before reaching Kolma Barahchaur. 

The 10-kilometer race will return via Kolma-Kaule, Jyamire, Biruwa-Bhaisegaunda and Rangbhang via the same route and will end again at Kolma Dada. The students will return via Kolma, Pokharichapa, Raipur-Baspani, Ramchautara via the same route and will end again at Kolma Dada.

The first placer in the 25-kilometer race will receive Rs 50,000, the second placer Rs 40,000, and the third placer Rs 30,000. 

Similarly, the first, second and third place winners in the 10-kilometer race will receive 20, 15 and 10 thousand cash prizes respectively. The first, second and third place winners in the 10-kilometer race for women will receive 20, 15 and 10 thousand cash prizes respectively.

The first place in both the male and female groups will receive 8 thousand, 5 thousand and 3 thousand rupees for the first, 5 thousand and 3 thousand rupees for the second and 2 thousand rupees for the run for fun. 

The cross-country running competition has been held every year. The competition, which started in 2075 BS, was postponed in 2077 and 78 BS due to the coronavirus. According to Pokharel, the general secretary of the forum, the competition has increased the tourist arrival by promoting social harmony, reconciliation, homestay. Similarly, the organizing organization has stated that there will be musical performances by national and local artists.
