Civic organizations in the district have collected Rs 121,555 for the reconstruction of government structures destroyed during the Genji protests. The amount was deposited in the account of the Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund on Wednesday and informed to the District Administration Office, said Hari Devkota, coordinator of the campaign and president of the Federation of Non-Governmental Organizations.

The amount was collected from 443 households and individuals in the district. ‘We have also submitted the details including the names of those who donated to the administration,’ said campaign coordinator Devkota. On Sunday, the organizations jointly went door-to-door in the district headquarters and collected money from those who voluntarily contributed. Devkota said that the amount was deposited in the Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund and the details were informed to the District Administration Office, Gorkha, and the Prime Minister’s Office.

‘We have also conducted this campaign to involve all citizens in the construction of the country and ensure that they fulfill their responsibilities, duties and obligations towards the state,’ he said. ‘This has also helped increase resources in the Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund.’

The campaign was jointly conducted by the citizens’ organizations in the district.
