The Division Forest Office, Gorkha, has rescued an injured leopard from Dhikidanda Community Forest, Sulkot-8, Barpak.
Madan Mohan Shandilya, head of the Division Forest Office, Gorkha, said that a male leopard, about 5 months old, has been rescued. “Yesterday (Friday), we received news that two leopards were found in a forest clearing,” he said. “We rescued one dead due to internal injuries and the other injured.” He also said that the injured male leopard cub is being treated after being rescued. “We suspect that it fell ill after consuming some poison, and an investigation is underway,” he said. “The leopard cub is still struggling after treatment. Now we are discussing whether to release it in its natural habitat or send it to a rescue center.” The dead leopard will be managed after a post-mortem, the office said.
