A young man riding a scooter died and a young woman sitting behind was injured when a passenger bus hit a moving scooter near Arunkhola along the East-West Mahendra Highway on Thursday morning.
According to DSP Madhu Nepal of the District Police, the scooter driver, Shivaji Basti, 26, of Nilkantha Municipality-5, Dhading, died at Madhyabindu Hospital this morning during treatment. The body of the deceased is at the hospital. Niru Shah, 21, of Gaighat, Udayapur, who was with the scooter, was injured.
Police have taken the driver of the bus that hit the vehicle into custody. The accident took place at 4:15 am today (Thursday).
