The Maulakali Cable Car in Gaindakot has resumed operations after two months. Protesters set the cable car on fire on Bhadra 24.
According to the cable car station manager, Suraj Poudel, engineers from Austria have started testing the cable car on Monday morning after repairing and rebuilding it. He said that it will be commercially operational from Tuesday evening.
With the resumption of the cable car service, it has become easier for devotees to visit the tourist and religious destination Maulakali Temple. The cable car was closed after the bottom station of the cable car was completely damaged due to vandalism and arson on Bhadra 24.
The cable car has 12 carriages. 96 people can ride it at a time. It takes 5 minutes to reach the upper station from this 1,200-meter-long cable car. Poudel informed that about 600,000 visitors have traveled there in the two and a half years up to last Shrawan.
There are statistics that between 500 and 10,000 visitors come here daily. From the upper station of the cable car, you can enjoy panoramic views of Devghat, Chitwan and Nawalparasi.
