Gandaki Province Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey has kept the Energy, Water Resources and Drinking Water Ministry to himself since the minister resigned in protest at the crackdown on the Bhadra 23 protests. He has not appointed a new minister even two months after his resignation.
The then Minister Phanindra Devkota had announced his resignation on Bhadra 24, saying that the party's directives and ethics did not allow him to remain in office.
Chief Minister Pandey is not planning to appoint a minister immediately. Government spokesperson and Minister for Economic Affairs Dr. Takraj Gurung said that there is no possibility of appointing him today.
