Gandaki Provincial Assembly sitting for the first time since the Gen-G movement

The Gandaki Provincial Assembly meeting is being held today. Provincial Assembly Secretary Govinda Poudel informed that the meeting will be held at 1 pm in the assembly hall of the Ministry of Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives.

In the meeting, Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey said that he would inform the Provincial Assembly about the damage caused during the Genji movement and the demonstration.

The meeting has a possible agenda of discussing and passing the bill related to marijuana cultivation and mining and minerals clause-wise. The Provincial Assembly meeting, which was postponed due to the situation arising after the Genji movement, is going to be held after two months.

The Provincial Assembly meeting is going to be held in the meeting room of the Ministry of Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives after the protesters damaged the Provincial Assembly building in Nadipur. Earlier, although the meeting was called at the same place on Asoj 22, the meeting was postponed at the last minute due to lack of preliminary preparations.

The last Provincial Assembly meeting was held on Bhadra 16. Then, the meeting called for Bhadra 25 could not be held after the protesters vandalized and set fire to the Provincial Assembly building on Bhadra 24 the day before.

As the Provincial Assembly building and other structures have been damaged beyond repair, alternative arrangements have been made for holding Provincial Assembly meetings at the Ministry of Agriculture building. The Provincial Assembly Secretariat has stated that since the construction of a new Provincial Assembly building has recently begun, the Provincial Assembly will be held from a temporary structure until the new building is completed.
