14 injured in monkey attack in Keulen

In the past two weeks, 14 people have been injured in monkey attacks in Tribenidham. In Binayi Tribeni Rural Municipality-6, the monkeys went from house to house in Keuleni village, biting and tearing at locals and livestock, injuring 14 people.

Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality-6 Ward Chairman Nurendra Shah said that the village has become unsafe due to the monkey threat. Locals who were bitten and mauled by monkeys have been vaccinated against rabies, and that it is expensive. 'One person has to pay 1800 rupees to get vaccinated, and the villagers with weak financial conditions have faced problems in treatment,' he said. He said that even when the monkey threat spread, the Chitwan National Park was ignored.

According to local Aanchal Joshi, monkeys have bitten and injured locals and livestock around Keuleni until Saturday. Joshi said that a single large and red monkey has bitten locals and livestock here. 'Since only one monkey was seen like this, the locals are panicking whether it has rabies,' he said. Joshi said that suspicions have also increased that a cow bitten by a monkey died 7 days ago.
