Two climbers who had reached Pangbari Peak in Chumanubri-1 Pangboche have been found dead.
DSP Rajkumar Shrestha of the District Police Office, Gorkha, said that Italian nationals Farnato Stefano, 51, and Caputo Alessandro, 28, who had been uncontacted since October 13, were found dead. They had reached the peak on October 1 to climb the peak after the snowfall that had occurred since Tuesday. DSP Shrestha said that the bodies were found buried in the snow and were rescued on Tuesday and brought to the helipad in Samagaun. Six people, including 3 Italian citizens, had gone to climb the Pangbari Peak on the way to the Tajung Bhanjyang checkpoint in Chumanubri-1 Pangboche. Four Nepalis, including an Italian, were rescued on Sunday.
