With the gradual improvement in the weather, movement of people has been allowed in the Manaslu region. The District Administration Office, Gorkha, had banned trekking following heavy snowfall in the Himalayan region since Monday.
Publishing a public notice on Sunday, the administration urged people to take precautions while trekking. It has been urged not to travel in case the trekking route is damaged and to take adequate precautions.
It has been urged to travel only after obtaining necessary information and coordination with the nearest security agencies and the Manaslu Conservation Area Project and to stop movement and stay in a safe place in case of adverse weather conditions, said Assistant Chief District Officer Chitrangat Baral.
Tourists were on hold after heavy snowfall since Monday. As the weather cleared on Sunday, tourists have started heading towards their destinations.
