Four trekkers stranded on Pangbari Peak in Chumanubri-1 have been rescued. Six people, including three Italian nationals, were stranded on the peak due to heavy snowfall since Monday.
Police said that 35-year-old Pemba Renji Sherpa, 31-year-old Dawa Chiri Sherpa and Pasang Tamang and 65-year-old Italian citizen Velter Perlina were rescued on Sunday morning. DSP Rajkumar Shrestha of the District Police Office, Gorkha, said that four people who were at the Tallo Base Camp were rescued by helicopter and brought to Samdo.
He said that a search is underway for two other Italian citizens stranded at Base Camp-1.
