The absconding defendant in the manslaughter case has been arrested after 65 days. The arrested person is 19-year-old Parbat Khawas of Kamti, Chapakot Municipality-5, Syangja. Police said they arrested him at his home on Kartik 11.

The incident involving Khawas took place on Bhadra 27. During an argument between local youths over the loud sound of a motorcycle in Jarkot, Waling Municipality-5, Dhal Bahadur Thapa, 32, of Bahun Danda in the same ward, was beaten up. The injured Thapa died during treatment.

Khawas, who was absconding during the investigation of the same incident, was arrested by the police and presented before the district court on Wednesday. The district court sent Khawas to the district jail for remand on Thursday.

The other seven people involved in the incident were sent to the district jail for remand on Asoj 2, according to District Police Chief Dadhiram Neupane.
