Fifteen domestic tourists, including nine from the same municipality, are stranded at Tilicho Base Camp in Manang due to heavy snowfall.
Nine people, including a 10-year-old boy from Nilkantha Municipality in Dhading, two Chinese nationals and four Nepalis are stuck at the base camp. Police have said that one of the stranded Nepalis could not return due to a problem with his leg.

Reshu Adhikari of Gangajmuna Rural Municipality-5, Dhading, said that nine people from the same municipality, including his 10-year-old son, are stuck at the base camp. ‘We could not go down due to the small child and thick snow,’ he said.
According to the official, they were stuck at the base camp after the snowfall started while they were returning from Tilicho Lake on Monday evening. ‘We have a small child, it took nine hours to come from Khangsar. It will take 15 hours to return. How to go in such a situation?’ He said, ‘There are also difficulties in communication.’
Among those stopped are 39-year-old Reshu Adhikari, 34-year-old Parbati Bhandari Adhikari and 10-year-old Aaron Adhikari of Dhading Gangajamuna-5, 44-year-old Ashok Kumar Basnet, 40-year-old Shirisha Basnet of Nilkantha-3, 40-year-old Ibaraj Thapa Chhetri, 39-year-old Indra Kumari Thapa, 21-year-old Navina Thapa and 18-year-old Navin Thapa.
Similarly, 23-year-old Rijan Manandhar of Parsa Birgunj and 23-year-old Sizan Mainali of Chitwan Bharatpur are also with them. Reshu said that Rijan could not go down after he noticed a problem in his leg and his friend Sizan also stayed with him. According to him, seven friends of the group have already left.
According to Chief District Officer Nawaraj Poudyal, they have been kept in a safe place in coordination with local hoteliers. "It will be easier for them to return as soon as the weather improves, and they will be rescued if the situation becomes difficult," said Paudyal.
