The District Police Office, Kaski, has arrested 18 people involved in the arson, vandalism, and looting of Bhadra 10.
18 people have been arrested for arson, vandalism and misuse of police uniforms at the District Police Office, Kaski, Police Post, Nayapul. Of these, 10 are still facing cases and 8 have been released on bail, said DSP Hari Bahadur Basnet, the office's information officer.
Those arrested and in custody are Rajesh Magrati, 24, of Tripurasundari Rural Municipality-4, Dhading; Narayan Sai, 54, of Adhikari Tole, Pokhara Metropolitan City-4; Arun BK, 22, of Phulbari, Pokhara-11; Rupesh Magar, 41, of Kaseri, Pokhara-1; Dipu Sai, 43, of Moharia Tole, Pokhara-1; Tham Bahadur Karki, 62, of Annapurna Rural Municipality-5, Nayapul; Long Bahadur Nepali, 47, of Purna Bahadur Nepali, 42, of Purna Bahadur Nepali and 19, of Arabin BK, and 22, of Haijung, Annapurna-6. The police are investigating them on charges of criminal nuisance by extending their remand from the District Court, Kaski.
Amrit Ghale, 24, of Prithvi Chowk, Pokhara-9, Chandra Bahadur Gurung, 39, and Sagar Pariyar, 22, of Pokhara-20 Mauja, Rajesh Shahi, 45, Sagar Adhikari, 29, and Dipesh Shah, 29, of Pokhara-5 Parsyang, Dipesh Shahi Thakuri, 24, of Pokhara-8, and Suresh Gurung, 24, of Gorkha and Pokhara-16, have been released on bail. The District Administration Office, Kaski, has released them on bail of Rs 2,000 to 3,000 while investigating them on charges of indecent behavior.
It has been revealed that some of those arrested are repeat offenders. A public crime case was filed against Rupesh Magar, 41, of Pokhara-1 Kaseri, in 2062 BS on charges of vandalizing a vehicle. This time, he has been found to be involved in arson and vandalism at the Bagar Ward Police Office.
Another person, Rajesh Magrati, 24, a resident of Dhading and living in Pokhara's Human Rights Chowk, has been found to have a case of indecent behavior filed against him in 2079 BS.
Purna Bahadur Nepali, 42, of Nayapul, Kaski, has been found to have escaped from police custody and set fire to a police post near his home. He was in the custody of the Bagar Ward Police Office on a case of indecent behavior and had escaped from there and was involved in arson, vandalism and looting of weapons at the Nayapul Police Post.
