A rhinoceros that had been sick for the past six years was found dead in the Shiswar area of ​​Devchuli Municipality on Saturday.

According to the park's information officer Abinash Thapa, a female rhino, aged about 32, was found dead in a mango orchard in the Shiswar area of ​​eastern Nawalparasi under the Chitwan National Park.

According to the information officer Thapa, the rhino, which had been making the mango orchard its home for a long time, had been sick for some time. The sick and old rhino had been treated by a team of doctors from the National Trust for Nature Conservation in the mango orchard several times before. The horn and hooves of the rhino found dead are intact.

With this, 5 rhinos have died in the Chitwan National Park since last Shrawan. In the last fiscal year, 28 rhinos died in the park. According to the latest census, there are 694 rhinos in the park.
