During the eye examination of 134 people, 87 people had problems.
In Kawasoti, East Nawalparasi, 87 of 134 people were screened for eye problems. It was found that eye problems are increasing due to people not screening their eyes regularly and visiting health institutions only when they have problems.
Eye specialist Pradeep Bhattarai said that such a problem was found during an eye check-up camp organized by the Rotary Club of Kawasoti in collaboration with Kawasoti Municipality and Tilganga Eye Institute at the Agyali Health Post.
In the camp chaired by the club's service project chief Shivlal Giri, 87 people were found to have vision problems and 22 had cataracts that required surgery, said Harihar Adhikari, former president of the Rotary Club of Kawasoti.
Patients with cataracts will undergo free surgery at Madhyabindu Provincial Hospital, Danda, on Kartik 10 by doctors from Tilganga Hospital.
