During the demonstration on August 24, 14 prisoners who escaped from various prisons in the country were arrested in Gorkha. According to the police, 9 people who absconded from Kaski prison, 4 people who absconded from various prisons in Kathmandu, and 1 person who absconded from Tanahun prison were arrested.

Vishal Uparkoti of Siranchok-2 who absconded from Tanahun Jail, Sonam Dorje Lama of Chumanuvri-6 who absconded from Kaski Jail,  Tenzing Lama, Chhewang Lama, Sonam Galzel Lama, Bikram Nepali of Siranchok-5 were arrested, SP Bharat Vick said.

Bam Bahadur Shrestha of Palungtar-1, Babura Nepali of Rhines Municipality-8 Lamjung, Rajesh Vishwas Sunar of Bhimsen Thapa Rural Municipality-1 who absconded from Kaski prison have also been arrested by the police. 

Suman Sundas of Chhatharjorpati-2 of Dhankuta, Bhuvan Tamang of Dhunweshi-2 of Dhading, Samuel of Palungtar-6, who escaped from the Sarangkot Kaski Children's Correctional Home, and Sushma Magrati of Gorkha-9, who escaped from the Nepali Children's Correctional Home Sanothimi Bhaktapur, have also been arrested, police said. The police also said that the arrested persons were sent in coordination with the relevant prison administration.
