The meeting of the Gandaki Provincial Assembly called for Wednesday has been postponed after the parties have shown that the situation created due to the Gen-G movement has not calmed down yet. The meeting called for one o'clock in the afternoon at the hall of the Ministry of Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives at Malepatan in Pokhara was postponed at the last minute.

It is mentioned in the notice issued by the Provincial Assembly Secretary Govind Poudel that the meeting has been postponed until further notice due to special reasons. Secretary Paudel said that the meeting was postponed because the technical preparations for the live broadcast were not completed.

Tables and chairs were arranged for the seats of the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Provincial Assembly members. The secretariat was also preparing to rent the sound system. However, on Tuesday, in the working order consultation committee meeting, the Congress, UML and Maoists suggested to the speaker that it is not appropriate to hold the parliament session immediately as it is not suitable for the situation.

Speaker Krishna Prasad Dhital said that the meeting had to be postponed due to the external environment and the lack of technical preparation. Other provinces have not done it either. What kind of activities are coming up," he said. "The matter of the environment has also become relevant. Even more than that, our internal preparations were not enough. Speaker Dhital was determined to hold the meeting as there is no immediate security threat in Pokhara.

The meeting of the state assembly was called on August 25th at 1 o'clock in the afternoon. However, the meeting that was supposed to be held the next day was postponed indefinitely after the protest intensified on August 24. The secretariat issued a notice to hold a meeting on October 22.

Wednesday's meeting was also postponed because there was not enough time to manage everything for the meeting at the new place. Now there is very little chance of holding a provincial assembly meeting before Tihar. As the Congress and UML Central Committee meetings are scheduled to be held on October 26 and October 27 to 27, the Parliament meeting is not expected to be held before Tihar.

In the ongoing session, the Bill on Marijuana, the Gandaki University Act Amendment Bill was prepared to be sent to the relevant committee for discussion. The speaker was planning to send two bills to the committee and end the session by passing the bill on mines and minerals. Now there is no discussion between the speaker and the party whether to hold a meeting after Tihar or to end the current session.
