A young man who set fire to the official residence of the Chief Minister of Gandaki Province at Sahid Chowk in Pokhara has been arrested.

22-year-old Sanjok Thapa, a resident of Rashtrabank Chowk in Pokhara, was arrested in Municipality-4 at Tilotta in Rupandehi. On August 24, a group of protesters set fire to the residence. On the night of October 12, he alone reached the Chief Minister's residence.

On August 24, he set fire to the room where the items saved from the fire were kept. After this, the team of District Police Office Kaski and Ward Police Office Baidam arrested him two days ago.

On the day of the incident, Thapa had taken a nap. After climbing the tree of Shaheed Park behind the Chief Minister's residence, he climbed over the wall and entered inside. He set fire there. After that, he was found vandalizing the ATM of Nepal Investment Megha Bank at Rashtra Bankchowk, said DSP Hari Bahadur Basnet, Information Officer of District Police Office Kaski. 

Thapa also threw stones at the screen of the ATM machine.
