After the arson and vandalism on August 24, 468 prisoners who escaped from Kaski prison have returned. Prison chief Rajendra Sharma said that 468 of the absconders had returned by 5 pm on Monday.

On August 24, 773 people escaped from the prison. There are still 350 people to return. We issued a notice to keep those who come till today. The order of coming is still continuing . We also keep those who come at night,' he said .

The prison office issued a notice on October 12 asking the absconding prisoners to return by October 20. Prison Office Kaski has warned through a notification on Monday that the prisoners who do not return and those who hide them will also be punished.

It is mentioned in the notification of the office that the prisoners who do not return, hide, hide and give shelter will be prosecuted according to the Prison Act 2079 and other prevailing laws. Jail Office Kaski has asked Assistant Chief District Officer Shiv Lamsal, DSP Hari Bahadur Basnet of District Police Office Kaski or Jail Administrator Rajendra Sharma to give information about escaped prisoners.

Chief Sharma said that there is no problem in keeping the returnees as the prison's administrative records were burnt. "It became easy because the records of prisoners are online." Our administrative files, computers have been burnt, stolen . He said

Clause (b) of sub-section 1 of section 49 of the Prison Act 2079 stipulates that in case of escape from prison, imprisonment for up to 5 years or a fine of up to 50 thousand rupees or both can be punished . Article 49, sub-section 2 states that anyone who escapes a prisoner can be punished with imprisonment for up to 3 years or a fine of 30,000 rupees or both. Sub-section 2 of Section 50 provides that the case of both these types of offenses is governmental, and the action and investigation should be based on the report of the prison administrator or prison office staff.
