The body of a teenager who had been missing while bathing since July 24 was found in Dudhpokhari Kund (5,300 m.) on the border of Lamjung and Manang.
18-year-old Manoj Gurung of Khwalasothar Rural Municipality-4, Bhujung, Lamjung, went missing while swimming in Dudhpokhari on Janaipurnima. His body was found by an armed police team with divers who arrived by helicopter.
He went with his friends on a journey to bathe in Dudhpokhri, which takes 2 days to walk from the village, and he reached some distance while swimming. Along with him, 9 friends went to the Dudhpokhri Bathing Festival. Locals and the police searched for the missing youth, but they were not found before.
Rural Municipality President Surya Prasad Gurung managed the rural municipality and sent 4 armed policemen including divers from Pokhara in an Air Dynasty helicopter on Friday. After the team rescued the body from the pond, the deceased's brother Dai Rek Bahadur Gurung identified it and after completing the legal process, it was buried some distance from the place.
Local Gamimaya Gurung, who is also the vice president of the village, said that the team that arrived with divers returned to Pokhara by helicopter on Saturday. According to him, a helicopter was sent to the management of the rural municipality on Friday, and after returning, a helicopter was sent again on Saturday.
DSP Resham Bohra, Chief of District Police Office Lamjung, got information about the incident, earlier, a team of 9 people including 4 Nepal Police and Armed Police Assistant Inspector led by Police Inspector Abhishek Pandey took 4 other helpers. After they did not meet, the team returned in 1 week.
