Three prisoners who escaped from the Central Jail during the protest were arrested in Syangja

Three inmates who were absconding when the prison was vandalized during the demonstration on August 24 were arrested in Syangja. Those arrested are 67-year-old Nunumaya Karki of Putlibazar Municipality-5 Pauvaigoude, Syangja, 28-year-old Bimal JT of Bhirkot Municipality-5 and 26-year-old Abhishek Nepali of Putlibazar Municipality-9 Colma.

Plainclothes police team arrested JT on Thursday and Karki and Nepali on Wednesday. According to the information officer of the district police office, Prashannaraj Chaudhary, the arrested prisoners have been brought to the district jail, Syangja.

Nunumaya Karki was in Jagannath Dewal Central Jail Kathmandu to serve her sentence in the duty killing case. After the protestors ransacked the prison, she was absconding and came home. The police said that the arrest was made based on the information of the locals. 

Similarly, Bimal JT and Abhishek Nepali, who were absconding from District Jail Kaski, were also arrested by the police from their home. Bimal was serving a prison sentence in the dutiful killing case and Abhishek in the extortion case. Earlier, Syangja police arrested two escaped prisoners. 

Among the prisoners who absconded during the movement, five people have been arrested from Syangja so far.
