Two prisoners who escaped from Central and District Jail Kaski have been arrested in Syangja. Those arrested are 34-year-old Vinod Darzi of Chapakot Municipality-4 of Syangja and Yam Bahadur Roka of Bhirkot Municipality-3. The Syangja police arrested them and sent them to the district jail in Syangja.
Darzi was serving his sentence in Jagannathdeval Central Jail Kathmandu in a rape case. Genji escaped on the night of August 24th during the movement. Spokesperson of the district police, Prashannaraj Chaudhary, informed that he was arrested by a team of plain-clothed policemen from the village village-6 Dharadi.
DSP Choudhary informed that Roka, who was serving his prison sentence in the duty killing case, was arrested from his home. According to the police, they were arrested based on the information.
During the protest that took place on 23rd and 24th of August, a large number of prisoners escaped due to vandalism and arson in prisons across the country, including the Central Prison.
